Lymphaletics for children with lymphoedema                                                         

What is this? The lymphaletics event is a special free day of activities for children and teenagers with lymphoedema and their families

When is it? 15^th September 2012

Where is it? The day will be held at Pond's Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield                                                              http://www.ponds-forge.co.uk

 The day is hosted by the British Lymphology Society Childrens' Special Interest Group (BLS CSIG)

The BLS CSIG is a group of specialist therapists who are working with children with lymphoedema. They work in lymphoedema clinics around the UK and are members of the British Lymphology Society. We are organising the day and will all be there to supervise the activities and support the children and families who attend.

The day is FREE to families and is funded and supported by the British Lymphology Society.

The programme for the day is just being finalised and will start at 12 midday and finish around 7.30pm. We are hoping to help families with overnight accommodation in Sheffield on the Saturday evening

What is happening?

There will be demonstrations by star guests including some very important young LSN members! There will be opportunities for supervised activities including diving, trampolining, streetdance and zumba. Children will work in teams for the lymphaletics event and then the final activity for the day will be an hour of swimming and water fun in the leisure pool for which we have exclusive use. There will also be special activities for the under 5's.In addition there will be a magician, disco, free prize draw, award ceremony with medals, refreshments and a buffet meal. In all - it will be a great day and we look forward to seeing you there!

Who is invited?

Every child and teenager with lymphoedema is invited. Members of LSN with children will receive a letter and invitation. You can find information on the website  http://www.lymphaletics.weebly.com
